Vantawng Khawhthla

Serchhip, Mizoram, India
Vantawng Khawhthla, also known as Vantawng Falls, is the highest and most spectacular waterfall in the state of Mizoram. It is located on the Vanva River near Thenzawl and cascades from a height of approximately 750 feet. The waterfall is named after Vantawnga, who was a legendary swimmer said to b e so skilled that he could dance in the falling water like a fish. Surrounded by a vast stretch of dense bamboo groves and tropical forests, the falls create a mesmerizing white silken effect against the green backdrop. Visitors can witness the sheer power of the water as it plunges into the deep gorge below. Due to the steep terrain, reaching the base is difficult, so the tourism department has built a comfortable viewing tower. The mist created by the fall often results in beautiful rainbows on sunny days. It remains a primary pride of Serchhip district and a must-visit for nature lovers. :
