The riverbank is lined with ancient temples, including the Saptamatrika temple, and long flights of stone steps (ghats) that lead down to the water. It is a place of constant activity, where pilgrims perform ancestral rites (Pinda Daan) and take holy dips. The viewpoint has been recently renovated with better lighting and seating arrangements, making it a peaceful place for evening walks. The sight of the river flowing calmly through the historic town of Jajpur evokes a sense of timelessness.
