Brahma Kund
Brahma Kund is a historic and sacred water tank or "Kund" located near the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Legend has it that Lord Brahma, the creator, performed penance here and also bathed in these waters after witnessing the "Brahma Vimohan Leela" of Krishna. The kund is surrounded by beautiful red sandstone steps (ghats) and several small shrines. It was recently restored to its former glory, featuring evening laser shows and fountain displays that narrate the stories of Braj. The water is considered holy, and many pilgrims take a symbolic dip or sprinkle the water on themselves. The area is exceptionally peaceful, offering a break from the crowded temple streets nearby. It serves as a reminder of the cosmic connection between the different deities of the Hindu pantheon and the sacred land of Mathura.
