Chakapad Temple
Chakapad is a unique religious site situated on the banks of the Brutanga River. It is famous for the Birupakshya Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The most striking feature of this place is that everything here—the temple, the trees, and even the Shiva Linga—leans towards the South. According to mythology, the Linga was established by the demon king Ravana. The atmosphere is deeply spiritual and surrounded by dense forests. It is considered one of the holiest places in the Kandhamal district and attracts thousands of devotees.
