Goechala Trek

The Goechala Trek is a more challenging and rewarding trek in Sikkim, renowned for its breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga massif, including a stunning face-to-face view of Kanchenjunga itself. Like the Dzongri Trek, it typically starts near Yuksom. The trail ascends to higher altitudes, reachin g the Goechala pass (around 4,940 meters). The trek passes through diverse landscapes, including rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, glacial valleys, and pristine lakes like Samiti Lake. The views of the snow-capped peaks, including Pandim reflecting in Samiti Lake, are truly spectacular. The Goechala Trek usually takes around 8-10 days and requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization. Permits are mandatory for trekking within the Kanchenjunga National Park, and it's essential to trek with a registered guide and porters.
