History Of Beejamandal Temple

The Mystery of Beejamandal Temple: The Beejamandal Temple is not one of the famous standing temples of Khajuraho but rather a massive, mostly unexcavated ruined plinth and foundation structure located in Jatkari village. It is one of the 18 unexplored mounds mentioned in historical surveys. It is be lieved to have been an enormous temple, possibly a Shiva temple (Vaidyanath Temple) as mentioned in the Grahapati Kokkala inscription, which, if completed, would have been larger in length (34.60 meters) than the colossal Kandariya Mahadev Temple (approx. 30 meters). The site is protected by the ASI. The unfinished nature suggests construction was halted, possibly due to a lack of funds or political turmoil. Its raw, colossal scale provides a dramatic contrast to the highly finished monuments.
