History of the Battle of Rahon: Gurudwara Shahidaan Urapar is a historic shrine built on the cremation site of Sikh soldiers who attained martyrdom in 1711. The battle was fought under the leadership of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur against the Mughal Governor Shamas Khan. This victory was a turning poin t for the Sikh Khalsa, as it weakened the Mughal hold over the Doaba region. The martyrs were cremated here with full honors, and this Gurudwara was later established to immortalize their sacrifice. Visiting this place is a journey into the valor of the Sikh warriors who fought for justice and religious freedom. The soil of Urapar is considered sacred, as it is drenched in the blood of those who gave their lives for the Panth.
