How To Reach Durduri Waterfall

Khunti, Jharkhand, India
Durduri Waterfall is one of the lesser-known but most beautiful natural attractions in the Khunti district. Located in the Murhu block, this waterfall is named after the 'durdur' roaring sound it makes as the water plunges over the rocks. It is a multi-tiered waterfall that becomes a thunderous spe ctacle during and after the monsoon season. The surrounding area is densely forested, providing a perfect backdrop for a day in the wild. Unlike the more famous Panchghagh or Dassam falls, Durduri offers a more raw and adventurous experience. There is no heavy commercialization here, which means you can enjoy the sounds of nature without the noise of crowds. The water flows into a clear pool at the bottom where visitors often enjoy dipping their feet. The approach to the waterfall involves a short walk through a forest trail, adding to the excitement of discovery. The rocks around the falls are slippery, so caution is advised. It is an excellent spot for nature enthusiasts who enjoy exploring off-the-beaten-path locations. Local villagers often visit the falls for fishing and as a source of clean water. The air near the falls is misty and cool, providing instant relief from the summer heat. The site is a paradise for bird watchers as many forest birds frequent the water source. Because it is not very crowded, it is a great place for a quiet family picnic. However, visitors should bring all their supplies as there are no shops nearby. The beauty of Durduri lies in its simplicity and the power of its falling water. It is a hidden treasure that showcases the rugged beauty of Jharkhand's landscape.
