How To Reach Echo Point
Matheran, Maharashtra, India:
Echo Point is arguably one of the most famous and frequented viewpoints in all of Matheran, true to its name, known for the distinct echoing phenomenon where shouting into the valley returns a clear repetition of the sound. Located on the main trekking circuit, it is situated close to the beautiful Charlotte Lake and is on the way to the equally popular Louisa Point. The vantage point provides a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the entire valley below, including the glittering expanse of Charlotte Lake nestled in the green bowl of the hills. The deep gorge opposite the point creates the perfect acoustic conditions for the echo effect, making it a fun and interactive spot for families, especially children. How to Reach

By Air: Nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai (Approx. 83 KMS). Take a taxi/cab to Neral, then proceed to Matheran's Dasturi Naka.

By Train: Take a local or long-distance train to Neral Junction. From Neral, take the Matheran Toy Train up to Matheran Hill Station. Echo Point is a walk of approximately 1 hour or a horse ride from the station.

By Road: Drive from Mumbai or Pune to Dasturi Naka (the last point for vehicles). From Dasturi Naka (approx. 3. 5 KMS from the point), hire a horse/pony or walk the designated footpaths/roads to Echo Point.

By Local Transport: From the Matheran market or railway station, the point is an easy and very popular walk (approx. 2. 5 KMS) through the shaded forest paths, or it can be reached quickly via a horse/pony ride. :
