How To Reach Matiana Selfie Point
Matiana Selfie Point is a popular modern attraction located in the quaint village of Matiana, just before reaching Narkanda. It is strategically positioned on a sharp bend of the highway to offer an unobstructed view of the rolling hills and deep valleys. This spot has gained fame in the age of soc ial media for its "perfect frame" that captures the essence of the Himachal landscape. The area is surrounded by lush greenery and terraced apple orchards that change color with the seasons. In spring, the valley is white with apple blossoms, while in autumn, the trees are laden with red fruit. The selfie point is often the first stop for tourists coming from Shimla, serving as a "welcome" to the higher altitudes. The local community has maintained the spot to ensure safety while providing a beautiful backdrop. Small cafes nearby offer local snacks and a place to rest. The altitude at Matiana is slightly lower than Narkanda, making the weather pleasantly cool rather than freezing. It is a place that celebrates the simple joy of a mountain view. Travelers often spend time here just watching the mist roll over the distant peaks. It represents the modern face of Himachal tourism, blending natural beauty with the digital age.
