How to Reach
From the Airport to Digha: After landing at Kolkata, travelers have several options. The most convenient is hiring a pre-paid taxi or a private cab directly to Digha. This road journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic. Alternatively, one can take a local bus or taxi from the airport to Howrah or Esplanade bus terminals in Kolkata to catch a direct bus to Digha.
By Train: Digha is well-connected by railway, which is often considered the most comfortable and direct way to reach the town.
Nearest Station:
Digha Flag Station (Code: DGHA). This station is very close to both Old Digha and New Digha Beach (just a few kilometers away).
Direct Trains: Regular express trains run from Kolkata (specifically from Santragachi or Howrah stations) to Digha, such as the Tamralipta Express or Kandari Express. The journey typically takes about 3. 5 to 4 hours.
From the Station to the Beach: The New Digha Beach is only about 2 KMS from the station. You can easily hire a local transport option like an auto-rickshaw or a Toto (electric rickshaw) for a quick ride to your hotel or the beach.

Bus Services: Government buses (WBTC) and numerous private bus operators run frequent, daily services from Kolkata (Esplanade bus depot), Howrah, Durgapur, and other major towns in West Bengal and neighboring states. Both AC and Non-AC buses are available, with a journey time of about 5 to 6 hours.
Self-Drive/Taxi: A road trip allows for flexibility and is a pleasant drive. Numerous taxi services can be hired for a one-way or round trip from Kolkata.
By Local Transport: Once in Digha, local travel is easy and inexpensive.
