By Train: Ghatsila Railway Station (GTS) is well-connected and located on the main line of the South Eastern Railway. Many trains from major cities like Kolkata (Howrah or Shalimar), Mumbai, and Delhi have a stop here, or you can take a train to the bigger junction of Tatanagar (Jamshedpur) and then take a local train or taxi to Ghatsila (about 37 KMS). The station is very close to the river side.
By Road: Ghatsila is easily accessible via national highways. It is approximately 245 KMS from Kolkata via NH16 and NH49 (a drive of about 6-7 hours). It is about 45 KMS from Jamshedpur via NH-33. State buses (from Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha) and private taxis are readily available.
By Local Transport: From Ghatsila town (near the railway station or bus stand), the Subarnarekha River Side is a short distance. You can hire an auto-rickshaw, a local cycle-rickshaw, or a taxi to reach the main viewing points like Ratmohona or the closest accessible riverbank area. The river is often within walking distance (1-3 KMS) from the city center. To reach the less-frequented areas like Tilaitanr Dam (Bhatin), hiring a dedicated auto-rickshaw or taxi for a round trip is recommended.
