How To Reach Sunset View Point

By Air (Final Leg from Agatti): From Agatti Aerodrome (AGX), the only airport in Lakshadweep, the final journey to Chetlat is by inter-island vessel or helicopter. The air travel from Kochi to Agatti is the main first step. Upon arrival at the Chetlat jetty, the Sunset View Point is only a 5-minute walk away, due to its proximity to the village center. Helicopters offer quicker but more expensive transfers, especially during the monsoon.

By Train (Kochi Railhead Connection): As an island, there are no railways. All train connections must terminate at Kochi, Kerala, from where the passenger must take the ship—such as M. V. Kavaratti—for the overnight sea voyage to Chetlat. The ship will anchor in the lagoon, and a small machine boat will bring passengers to the jetty, right next to the view point.

By Road (Local Auto-Rickshaw/Walking): Since the point is only 0. 2 KM from the main village/jetty, the primary means of reaching it from any local accommodation on Chetlat Island is by walking. The paths are well-maintained and flat, making for a pleasant stroll. For visitors coming from the southern end of the island, a short ride in a locally available auto-rickshaw or a bicycle ride along the coastal path is the most effective way. There is no large road infrastructure on the small island. By Local Transport (Inter-Island Vessel and Jetty Access): The inter-island passenger vessels drop travelers at the Chetlat jetty, which is essentially the view point's doorstep. This makes it the most easily accessible of all the major attractions on the island. Local boat taxis are used for transfers between islands. For local travel, always negotiate the fare in advance with the auto-rickshaw drivers.
