How To Reach Temi Tea Garden

Namchi, Sikkim, India:
Overview and History: Temi Tea Garden is the only tea estate in Sikkim, spread across a gentle hill slope descending from Tendong Hill. Established in 1969 by the Government of Sikkim, it is globally renowned for producing some of the finest quality organic tea. The tea produced here is of exception ally high quality, competing with the best international brands, and is often exported. The estate follows strict organic farming practices and is a model for sustainable agriculture in the region. The garden covers a large area, offering a magnificent, expansive, and highly photogenic view of the terraced tea plantations, surrounding villages, and the distant mountains. A visit provides a tranquil experience, combining natural beauty with an insight into the processes of tea cultivation and manufacturing. The estate also features an old British-era bungalow and a modern factory where visitors can witness the tea processing firsthand and sample the exquisite Temi Tea. How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport (IXB) (West Bengal, approximately 120 KMS). The nearest in-state airport is Pakyong Airport (PYG). From there, hire a private taxi directly to the estate (approx. 4-5 hours).

By Train: The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) (West Bengal, approximately 115 KMS). From NJP, shared taxis or private cabs are available for the scenic drive to the Temi Tea Garden area.

By Road: The garden is about 25 KMS from Namchi town and is easily accessible via a well-maintained network of State Highways. It is located on the route between Ravangla and Namchi. The drive is very scenic and takes approximately 1. 5 hours from Namchi.

By Local Transport: A reserved local taxi from the Namchi Taxi Stand or a private hired cab is the most convenient way to reach the garden. Shared jeeps going towards Ravangla or Damthang can drop you at the main gate, but they are less frequent, and you might have a short walk from the main road. :
