By Train: The nearest major station is Mettupalayam (MTP), 40 km away, with the connecting Nilgiri Mountain Railway (Toy Train) up to Ooty Railway Station. From the Ooty station, the most practical way is to hire a taxi/cab as part of a sightseeing package that includes Pykara and the Downs.
By Road: Wenlock Downs is on the Ooty-Pykara Road, approximately 16 km from Ooty town. It is a simple, direct drive by private car, hired taxi, or local bus (public buses heading towards Pykara or Gudalur will pass the area).
By Local Transport: A local taxi or cab is the most convenient option, often hired for a half-day or full-day itinerary that also includes Pykara Lake and the Pine Forest. Auto-rickshaws are less reliable for the full round trip due to the distance. :
