Koel Bridge Arangi

Gumla, Jharkhand, India
The Koel Bridge at Arangi is more than just a piece of infrastructure; it is a vantage point that offers breathtaking views of the North Koel River. This bridge connects the remote tribal belts of Ghaghra to the main administrative centers. Standing on the bridge, one can see the river winding thro ugh the rugged landscape of the Chota Nagpur Plateau. The riverbed is a mix of white sand and dark boulders, creating a striking visual contrast. During the monsoon, the river swells with immense power, making the bridge a thrilling spot to witness the force of nature. In the dry season, the water recedes to reveal beautiful rock formations that are perfect for exploration. The surrounding area is part of a dense forest corridor, and it is not uncommon to see various species of eagles soaring above the river. The bridge has become a popular "stop-over" for travelers heading towards Netarhat, the Queen of Chotanagpur. The local culture around Arangi is deeply rooted in the river, with many festivals and daily activities centered around the Koel. It represents the lifeline of the northern part of the district.
