Subarnameru Temple
An extremely popular and highly revered Lord Shiva temple situated on the tranquil bank of the Tel River. Like Rameswar, its location by the river makes it a significant site for ritual bathing, contributing to Sonepur's title of "Second Varanasi". The temple's construction is attributed to the seco nd Chauhan ruler, Raja Lal Sai Deo, and later completed by Raja Baliyar Singh Deo in the 17th century. The temple houses an important Shiva Lingam and attracts massive crowds, especially during Maha Shivratri and the holy month of Shravan.
