Trilokpur Temple

Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, India
Trilokpur Temple is a revered Shakti Peeth dedicated to Maa Bala Sundari, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. The temple was built in 1573 by Raja Dip Prakash after the deity appeared in a merchant's dream. It sits on a scenic hillock at an elevation of 430 meters above sea level. The name Trilokpur r efers to the "Triangle of three temples" representing three forms of the Goddess. Millions of devotees visit annually, especially from Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi. The temple complex is vibrant with the sounds of bells and spiritual hymns. It is believed that the Goddess manifested herself in a salt bag belonging to a local trader. The management is currently handled by a statutory trust headed by the Deputy Commissioner. The spiritual energy and the historical architecture make it the soul of the Sirmaur district. It serves as a symbol of faith and communal harmony in the lower Himalayas.
