Umiam Lake
Umiam Lake, popularly known as Barapani, is a massive man-made reservoir created by damming the Umiam River in the mid-1960s. It was the first hydroelectric power project in Northeast India, but today it is better known as the region's premier destination for water sports and scenic beauty.
