Betaab Valley
A Picturesque Garden of Pine and Lidder: Betaab Valley, originally known as Hajan Valley or Hagoon, was famously renamed after the blockbuster 1983 Bollywood movie Betaab starring Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh was shot here. The valley is a stunning, flat meadow flanked by dense forests of deodar and pine trees, with the crystal-clear, icy cold Lidder River flowing right through it. It is situated on the route to Chandanwari and the Amarnath Cave. Its manicured lawns, towering trees, and gushing stream create a quintessential Kashmiri picture of paradise. The valley has designated picnic spots, walking paths, and a well-maintained garden area, making it an extremely popular destination for families and couples. It’s a complete package of scenic beauty, from the gentle flow of the river to the majestic, snow-capped mountains that form its backdrop.
