Dhuandhar Falls

Bhedaghat, Madhya Pradesh, India
The name Dhuandhar translates to 'Smoke Flow' (Dhuan means smoke, Dhar means flow), describing the misty spray created when the Narmada River, after flowing through the Marble Rocks gorge, plunges violently from a height of approximately 30 meters (100 feet) onto the hard rock below: This breathtaki ng force of nature, combined with the surrounding white marble cliffs, makes it one of the most famous waterfalls in India: The tremendous rush of water is particularly strong during and immediately after the Monsoon season (July to September): The sight and roar of the falls are a major part of the Bhedaghat tourist circuit, often viewed from the viewing platforms, or a cable car which runs right above the falls: Nature's Spectacle:The falls showcase the raw power of the river, carving the rocks over millennia and creating a permanent cloud of mist:
