Domakonda Fort
Domakonda Fort is an 18th-century marvel and a testimony to the Domakonda Samsthanam's grandeur. Built in 1786, it blends defensive military architecture with royal luxury. The fort is famously known for its "Addhala Meda" (Glass Mansion). It has received the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2022. The fort is surrounded by a massive moat and granite walls. Inside, one can find a beautiful Shiva Temple dating back to the Kakatiya era. The fort remains under the administrative control of the royal family but is open to the public. It has been a popular site for film shootings, including the movie "Kondaveeti Donga". The lush greenery and historic atmosphere make it a perfect weekend getaway. It reflects the fusion of Mughal and Western architectural styles. :
