It has three levels, each approximately 20 feet high. Each level features small rooms or "rest chambers" for travelers. The stairs are uniquely designed on all eight sides of the octagon-like structure. The western stairs are notably wider, measuring about 10 feet across. The entire structure is built of dressed granite blocks fitted without modern mortar.
