The Original Aligarh Clock Tower: This landmark is the historical Aligarh Clock Tower, also known as the Harrison Tower, completed in 1893 and named after the British district magistrate, J. H. Harrison. It is a fine example of colonial-era public architecture blending European and Mughal styles. Wh ile similar towers exist (Baradwari Chowk), this one is the historical structure situated near the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and the judges' courts. It symbolizes the civic development during the British Raj.
