How To Reach Dayara Bugyal

Dayara Bugyal is often cited as one of the most breathtaking high-altitude meadows in the world. Situated at an elevation of 3,408 meters, it spreads across a vast area of nearly 28 square kilometers. The word "Bugyal" in the local dialect means "high altitude meadow." During the summer months, the se meadows are covered in a carpet of vibrant wildflowers and lush green grass, while in winter, they transform into a pristine white landscape perfect for skiing. The trek to Dayara Bugyal starts from the villages of Raithal or Barsu. The trail takes you through dense forests of oak and maple, where the sunlight filters through the canopy in magical patterns. As you ascend, the forest thins out to reveal the grand expanse of the meadows, framed by the towering peaks of the Gangotri range. From the top, one can witness the Srikanth, Draupadi ka Danda, and Jaonli peaks in all their glory. The ecosystem here is fragile and beautiful, home to various Himalayan birds and rare flora. For many trekkers, the experience of camping under the star-studded sky at Dayara Bugyal is a life-changing event. The silence of the mountains, interrupted only by the whistling wind, provides a deep sense of peace. It is a place where nature remains untouched by the chaos of urban civilization. :
