The Hussainabad Clock Tower, often simply called Ghanta Ghar, is an iconic, towering monument located near the Chota Imambara in the old city of Lucknow. Standing at an impressive height of 221 feet (67 meters), it is widely believed to be the tallest clock tower in India. It was built in 1881 by Na wab Nasir-ud-Din Haidar's younger brother, Nawab Nasir-ud-Din Haidar, using a donation from the Husainabad Trust, to mark the arrival of Sir George Couper, the Lieutenant Governor of Awadh. By Air: The nearest airport is Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (LKO), approximately 15-16 KMS away. Hire a taxi or app-based cab. The area is prone to traffic, so the journey can take 45-60 minutes.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Lucknow City Railway Station (approx. 3 KMS) or the main Lucknow Junction (LJN)/ Charbagh Railway Station (approx. 7 KMS). From the stations, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, and cycle rickshaws are available.

By Road: The tower is prominently located at the beginning of the Husainabad road in the old city. It is easily reachable by car or taxi, but the area is extremely congested.

By Local Transport: The Lucknow Metro is not directly close. The nearest operational stations are Charbagh Metro Station or KD Singh Babu Stadium Metro Station. From these points, local transport like auto-rickshaws or cycle rickshaws is essential for the last few kilometers into the old city. Cycle rickshaws are often the best way to navigate the immediate, congested old city streets.
