How To Reach Jumpin Heights

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India
General Overview of Jumpin Heights: This iconic adventure zone was established in 2010 by ex-Army Captain Rahul Nigam to bring international safety standards to Indian adventure tourism. It is nestled in the lush Shivalik hills near Mohan Chatti, offering a breathtaking backdrop for thrill-seekers w ho wish to conquer their fears. The facility is renowned for being the first of its kind in India to feature a fixed cantilever platform for jumping, rather than jumping from a crane or a temporary structure. Safety and Expertise at the Site: Safety is the primary pillar of this establishment, as it was designed by experts from New Zealand, the world capital of bungee jumping. The jump masters are highly trained and have successfully overseen more than 1.5 lakh safe jumps over the past decade. Every piece of equipment, from the cords to the harnesses, follows strict Australian and New Zealand safety protocols to ensure a zero-error environment. The Core Adventure Experience: The primary attraction is the 83-meter bungee jump, which provides a heart-pounding free fall over the Hall River, a tributary of the Ganges. Upon completion, jumpers are lowered to a drop zone in the riverbed, where they receive a bottle of water and a badge of honor. This experience is designed to push mental boundaries while providing a safe and exhilarating environment for participants aged 12 to 45. Visitor Facilities and Atmosphere: Beyond the jumps, the site features a well-maintained cafeteria where visitors can relax and watch videos of their daring feats. The atmosphere is charged with adrenaline and excitement, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Rishikesh. It serves as a perfect blend of modern extreme sports and the raw, natural beauty of the Himalayan foothills.

How to Reach

Reaching by Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, located about 40 KMS from Mohan Chatti. From the airport, you can hire a private taxi directly to the jump zone, which takes approximately 1. 5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a taxi to Rishikesh city and then use the dedicated Jumpin Heights shuttle bus from their Tapovan office.

Reaching by Train: The closest major railway station is Haridwar Junction, which is 50 KMS away and well-connected to Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. From Haridwar, you can take a bus or taxi to Rishikesh (25 KMS), and then proceed to the jump site. There is also a new railway station at Yog Nagri Rishikesh, which is closer but has fewer long-distance train options.

Reaching by Road: Rishikesh is well-connected by National Highway NH-58 from Delhi (245 KMS). The journey from Delhi takes about 5 to 6 hours via the Meerut Expressway. Once in Rishikesh, you must travel another 17 to 25 KMS on the Neelkanth Temple Road to reach Mohan Chatti. The road is narrow and winding, so driving a private vehicle requires experience in hilly terrain.

Reaching by Local Transport: The most convenient way is to use the Bungy Coach, a luxury AC bus operated by Jumpin Heights that departs from their office near Lakshman Jhula at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM. You can also hire a local "Vikram" (auto-rickshaw) or a private Jeep from the Rishikesh stand. Shared Jeeps going toward Neelkanth can also drop you at the Mohan Chatti turn, followed by a short walk.
