How to Reach
By Air to Jiribam:The nearest major airport is Silchar Airport (IXS) in Assam, approximately 80 KMS away. From Silchar, one can hire a pre-paid taxi or take a shared cab to Jiribam. The journey takes about 2. 5 to 3 hours via road. Another, larger option is Imphal International Airport (IMF), but the road journey from Imphal to Jiribam is much longer and more challenging (220 KMS), taking 7-9 hours.
By Train to Jiribam:The most convenient rail access is through the Jiribam Railway Station (JIR), which is now operational and connects to the Indian railway network. Trains, primarily from the Silchar area, offer a comfortable and scenic way to reach the town. From the Jiribam station, the park can be reached by a short auto-rickshaw or taxi ride of about 15-20 minutes.
By Road from Jiribam:The Natural Park (Khoripok) is best reached by road from the main Jiribam town center. One can hire an entire local taxi (Tata Sumo or similar) or take a local auto-rickshaw. The journey is approximately 30 KMS and takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on road conditions. The main road is relatively good, but the final approach to the park may be a dirt track.
By Local Transport within Jiribam:Local transport options include hired taxis, shared jeeps (often called 'Line' cars by locals), and auto-rickshaws. Since the park is relatively far from the center, a dedicated hired auto-rickshaw or taxi for a return trip is the most reliable option.
