By Train: The nearest railway station is Manikpur Junction (MKP), approximately 15-20 KMS away, or Chitrakoot Dham Karwi (CKTD), about 35-40 KMS away. Manikpur is a smaller station with better proximity, while Karwi is a major station. From either station, hiring a local taxi or a motorized rickshaw (auto) is the only viable option to reach the dam. Always negotiate the fare beforehand.
By Road: The dam is situated off the main roads connecting Chitrakoot to Manikpur. It is best reached by a private vehicle or a hired taxi from the main Chitrakoot or Karwi area. The approach road from the highway may be unpaved or less maintained, requiring a sturdy vehicle. It is advisable to use a GPS or a local driver due to the dam's remote location.
By Local Transport: The most reliable local transport is a hired taxi or a large motorized rickshaw for a round trip from Chitrakoot town. Given the distance and isolated location, public motorized rickshaws are rare. Negotiate a full-day or half-day fare that includes waiting time.
