By Train: Reach Guwahati Railway Station (GHY, 48 KMS). Take a taxi or bus to Nongpoh. In Nongpoh, hire a dedicated local cab; public transport to the village is often infrequent and unreliable.
By Road: Sankhat is located on a secondary road a few kilometers off National Highway 6 (NH 6) near Nongpoh. The turn-off point is known locally. A 4x4 or a vehicle with good ground clearance is advisable for the final stretch of the journey on the rural road.
By Local Transport: The best way to reach is by hiring a private local cab (a Tata Sumo is ideal) for a round trip from Nongpoh town. Inform the driver that you want to visit the village of Sankhat for a cultural experience; they will usually arrange the best route.
