How To Reach Sati Anusuya Ashram/Temple

This ancient and sacred Ashram is situated amidst dense forests on the banks of the holy Mandakini River, a tributary of the Tamas? River. It is the legendary residence of Maharishi Atri, one of the seven great sages (Saptarishis), and his devoted wife, Sati Anusuya. How to Reach

By Air: The nearest major airports are Prayagraj Airport (Allahabad) (approximately 115 KMS) and Khajuraho Airport (approximately 175 KMS). From the airport, one can hire a pre-paid taxi or take a bus to Chitrakoot town. The journey by road takes about 3-4 hours from Prayagraj.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Chitrakoot Dham Karwi Railway Station (CKTD) (approximately 21 KMS from the Ashram). This station is well-connected to major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Prayagraj, and Varanasi. From the station, you can hire a taxi, auto-rickshaw, or shared transport to reach the Ashram.

By Road: Chitrakoot is well-connected by state and national highways. Regular bus services (both state-run and private) are available from nearby cities like Prayagraj, Satna, Jhansi, and Varanasi. The Ashram is located off the main road connecting Chitrakoot and Satna.

By Local Transport: From the main Chitrakoot town (Ramghat area), the best way to reach the Ashram is by hiring a private taxi or a shared auto-rickshaw (Tempo). Auto-rickshaws are readily available and can be hired for a round trip, which is advisable given the slightly remote location. The road is scenic but relatively narrow in parts.
