Zeiladzang Village is a serene tribal hamlet that acts as the primary base for explorers heading toward the Zeilad group of lakes. Perched on a ridge overlooking the Barak River valley, the village offers some of the most dramatic views in the entire district. The inhabitants are mostly from the Ro ngmei Naga tribe, known for their bravery and deep-rooted cultural pride. How to Reach

By Air: Fly to Imphal (IMF) airport and take a taxi to Tamenglong. The road from Imphal is scenic but can be tiring; it is best to break the journey and stay a night in Tamenglong town before heading to Zeiladzang the next morning.

By Train: The Jiribam railway station is the closest point by rail, but road connectivity from Dimapur is often preferred by travelers coming from Kolkata or Delhi. From Dimapur, you can take a shared sumo to Tamenglong through the hills.

By Road: The village is reached via a diversion from the main Tamenglong-Tousem road. The path is narrow and requires careful driving; a 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended to navigate the steep inclines and occasional rocky patches.

By Local Transport: Shared Sumos run between Tamenglong and Tousem daily. You can ask to be dropped at the junction for Zeiladzang, from where it is a short but scenic walk or a quick hitch-hike into the village center.
