Netarhat Hills Viewpoint
Details: Netarhat Hills Viewpoint (East), commonly known as the Sunrise Point, is the primary destination for early risers visiting the hill station. Situated on the eastern edge of the plateau, it offers a breathtaking view of the valley as the sun emerges from behind the distant hills. The experi ence begins in the pre-dawn darkness when the valley is filled with a thick blanket of white mist, making the hills look like islands in a sea of clouds. As the first light appears, the sky turns into shades of deep blue and violet, slowly transitioning to a brilliant crimson. The sight of the red orb of the sun rising through the mist is often described as a spiritual experience. The viewpoint is conveniently located near the government tourist bungalow, making it easily accessible for guests. The air here in the morning is incredibly crisp and cold, even in summer, providing a true mountain experience. Unlike the Sunset Point which is famous for its tragic romance, the Sunrise Point is celebrated for its sense of new beginnings and natural purity. The vast expanse of the Koel River valley can be seen winding through the forests below once the mist clears. It is a favorite spot for yoga practitioners and morning walkers. The site has been developed with a "Sunrise Park" featuring manicured lawns and walking tracks. It serves as the perfect starting point for a day of exploration in Netarhat. The panoramic view covers several ranges of hills, showcasing the undulating topography of the Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh border.
