Pappu Waterfall

Netarhat, Jharkhand., India.
Scenic Description: Pappu Waterfall is a lesser-known but breathtaking natural attraction located in the Lohardaga border area near Netarhat. It is characterized by its clear, sparkling water that drops from a moderate height onto a bed of ancient rocks. Unlike the more commercialized falls, this sp ot offers a raw and unpolluted experience of nature. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forests of Sal and Teak, which keep the air cool and refreshing even during the summer months. The approach road to the waterfall is quite scenic, passing through tribal hamlets and lush green fields. Local villagers often visit this spot for weekend getaways, but it remains largely undiscovered by mainstream tourists. The sound of the falling water combined with the chirping of forest birds creates a meditative atmosphere. It is an ideal spot for those who want to escape the crowds of Magnolia Point and spend some quality time in solitude. The pool at the bottom is relatively shallow and clear, making it a safe place for dipping one's feet. During the monsoon, the waterfall transforms into a powerful white curtain, while in winter, it becomes a gentle and rhythmic stream. The path leading to the falls requires a short trek through the woods, adding an element of light adventure to the trip. It is frequently visited by students and nature photographers from Ranchi and Lohardaga. The serenity of the place is its biggest draw. Visiting this waterfall allows travelers to see the "untouched" side of the Chotanagpur plateau. It is a perfect addition to a 3-day Netarhat itinerary.
