Puiluan Village, also frequently spelled as Puilong or Kambiron, is a site of immense historical and spiritual significance. It is the birthplace of Haipou Jadonang, the charismatic Naga spiritual leader who founded the Heraka movement against British colonial rule. The village is steeped in the hi story of the Zeliangrong struggle for independence. Visiting Puiluan is like walking through a living museum; the elders still recount stories of the 1930s resistance. The village is situated amidst rugged terrain, surrounded by steep cliffs and dense forests that once served as hideouts for freedom fighters. It remains a pilgrimage site for followers of the Heraka faith, who come to pay their respects at the ancestral sites. The landscape is dotted with memorial stones and traditional monoliths that tell the story of the village's bravery and its role in the wider Indian independence movement.
