Pochera Waterfalls
Pochera Waterfalls is a magnificent natural attraction located on the way to Nirmal from Adilabad. It is famously known as the deepest waterfall in the state of Telangana. The water of the Godavari river flows through the Sahyadri mountain range and breaks into several streams, which eventually con verge and drop from a height of about 20 meters. The fall is unique because the water drops into a very deep and wide pool carved out of a solid granite bed. The sheer force of the water creates a roaring sound that can be heard from a significant distance, symbolizing the raw power of nature. Unlike many other waterfalls, Pochera is easily accessible as it is located close to the National Highway, making it a popular spot for weekend picnickers. The surroundings are lush and green, especially during the rainy season, providing a picturesque backdrop for photography. The waterfall is categorized as a "plunge" waterfall due to the way the water loses contact with the rock surface as it falls. Safety is a major concern here because of the depth of the water and the slippery nature of the algae-covered rocks. The government has installed some fencing and walkways to ensure the safety of the visitors. Near the waterfall, there is a small temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha, adding a touch of spirituality to the visit. The site is well-maintained with a park-like atmosphere, making it suitable for families and children.
