Ramkrishna Mission Ashram
General Details: The Ramkrishna Mission Ashram in Narayanpur is a world-renowned socio-spiritual organization founded in 1985 by Swami Atmananda. It was established with the noble goal of uplifting the extremely backward tribal communities of the Abujhmarh region, who were previously cut off from ci vilization. The ashram is not just a religious center but a massive hub of education, healthcare, and vocational training. Spanning over a vast green campus, it houses a residential higher secondary school, an industrial training institute (ITI), and a multi-specialty hospital named Vivekananda Arogya Dham. The ashram has been instrumental in transforming the lives of thousands of tribal children, many of whom have gone on to become doctors, engineers, and government officers. In 2009, it was honored with the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration. The campus exudes a sense of discipline, peace, and selfless service. Visitors can see the agricultural demonstration units where tribal farmers are taught modern farming techniques. The ashram also manages several fair-price shops and mobile medical units in the deep interiors of the jungle.
