Singbulli Tea Estate is a magnificent and vast tea garden nestled in the undulating hills of the Mirik Valley, within the Darjeeling district. Established by British planters in 1924, the estate is now managed by Jay Shree Tea and Industries since 2003. It's renowned for producing exceptional organi c Darjeeling tea, particularly its prized Second Flush Tea, which is famous for its bold aroma, delicate sweet muscatel flavour, and bright orange liquor. The estate spans over 474 hectares and covers nine rolling hills, with altitudes ranging from 1200 ft to 4100 ft (366 meters to 1250 meters). This elevated, superior geographical position provides the ideal climate for growing high-quality tea bushes. Beyond tea, the estate is committed to ecological preservation, featuring a nature reserve with over 3000 pine trees and undertaking massive vegetative composting and vermicompost projects to maintain bio-diversity and soil conservation. The garden is divided into four main divisions: Singbulli, Manja, Tingling, and Murmah. It employs a large number of permanent workers, reflecting its significant contribution to the local economy and culture of tea production. The estate offers a glimpse into the meticulous process of cultivating and processing the world-famous Darjeeling tea. Visitors can appreciate the sheer scale of the plantation and the dedication to organic farming practices that define this beautiful location.
