Town Hall
The Town Hall of Raipur is a majestic stone structure that stands as a testament to the British colonial era. Built in 1887 and inaugurated in 1890, it was originally named Victoria Jubilee Hall to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is constructed using red stones and lime, follow ing a classic Neo-Gothic architectural style that was popular during that period. For decades, it has served as a central hub for civic administration and significant public gatherings. The hall houses a library and holds historical records of the many dynasties that ruled the region before the British. It is situated right next to the Collectorate and serves as a landmark for the city's old-world charm. Despite the modernization of Raipur, the Town Hall has been preserved as a heritage site. It offers a glimpse into the 19th-century administrative history of Central India. The building is particularly beautiful at night when it is illuminated with modern lighting. It remains a pride for local citizens and a must-visit for history buffs.
