Accommodation: There is no accommodation at Kala Patthar. The base for staying is Lachung (approx. 4-5 hours away). Book accommodation in Lachung well in advance.
Permit Formalities: Ensure your permit is secured a day or two in advance from Gangtok or Mangan. Carry multiple photocopies of ID proofs and photos.
Photography: Use a UV filter and polarizing filter to manage the harsh glare from the snow.
