Dillai Falls
Place Details: Dillai Falls is a serene, veil-like waterfall located in a densely forested pocket of the South Garo Hills. The forest surrounding Dillai is rich in broad-leaved trees and is a haven for the Malabar Giant Squirrel. As you approach the falls, the temperature noticeably drops, and the humid air becomes misty and cool. The base of the falls has a shallow pool that is safe for wading and small children to play in. Local legends tell of a maiden named Dillai who was known for her beauty and spent her days singing by the water. Today, the falls remain as a tribute to the peaceful spirit of the Garo hills. The rocks are covered in thick ferns, and during the spring, wild lilies bloom along the edges of the water.
