History Of Harmukh Mountain View

Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir, India
Harmukh Mountain is a majestic Himalayan peak with an elevation of approximately 5,142 meters (16,870 ft). It is one of the highest and most prominent mountains in the Kashmir Valley. The mountain holds immense sacred significance for Kashmiri Hindus, who revere it as the mythological 'Abode of Lord Shiva' and often refer to it as the 'Kailash of Kashmir'. While the peak is a challenging mountaineering destination, tourists mainly appreciate its view from the Sonamarg region, especially from the high alpine meadows near Gangabal Lake, which lies at its foot. Its steep, pyramid-like structure makes for a dramatic visual spectacle.
