How to Reach

The Arboretum Cum Craft Centre is located approximately 8 km from the main Diphu town center in the Matipung locality.

By Air: The closest operational airport is Dimapur Airport (DMU), located about 70-80 km away. A pre-hired taxi from Dimapur to Diphu town takes around 2. 5 to 3 hours. Alternatively, Guwahati Airport (GAU) is a major hub, approximately 250-260 km away, requiring a longer 6-7 hour road or train journey to reach Diphu. From Diphu town, the final segment to the Arboretum must be completed by local transport.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Diphu Railway Station (DPU), which is on a major rail line and connects to various cities across Assam and India. The station is only about 7-9 km from the Arboretum. Once you arrive at the station, you can easily hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw for the short drive to the Matipung area where the center is located.

By Road: Diphu is accessible via National Highway 27 (NH 27). Regular bus services (both government and private) connect Diphu with regional cities like Guwahati (about 6-7 hours), Nagaon, and Dimapur. If driving from Diphu town, the center is located in the Matipung area and is generally well signposted. You can ask for directions to the ASSA Office landmark.

By Local Transport: The most common and convenient local transport from Diphu town or the railway station is the auto-rickshaw or a hired local taxi/cab. The fare should be negotiated with the auto-rickshaw driver before starting the journey. The approximate journey time from the town center to the Matipung area is around 20-25 minutes, depending on the traffic.
