How To Reach Kongala Water Falls

KHAMMAM, Telangana, India
Nature's Secret Retreat: Kongala Water Falls, also known as the V-shaped falls, is one of the most secluded and beautiful natural wonders in the district. Hidden deep within the dense forests of Venkatapuram, it remains largely untouched by commercial tourism. The waterfall is formed by the Loddimad ugu Vagu stream, which plunges from a height of approximately 70 feet into a clear pool below. To reach the falls, visitors must embark on a scenic trek of about 7 to 8 kilometers through the forest. This trek is part of the adventure, offering glimpses of wild flora and the sounds of distant wildlife. The water is remarkably pure and cold, making it a refreshing reward for the long walk. The surrounding rocks and lush green canopy create a natural amphitheater that echoes with the sound of falling water. Because it is a hidden gem, there are no permanent structures or shops nearby, preserving its raw beauty. Local tribal communities often guide tourists through the forest trails, sharing stories of the land. The falls are particularly impressive during the monsoon season when the water volume increases significantly. It is a favorite spot for adventure groups and solo trekkers seeking solitude. The site offers a "back-to-basics" experience where the only distraction is the beauty of the landscape. Photography enthusiasts find the lighting and the V-shaped cascade perfect for long-exposure shots. It is a place that demands respect for nature, requiring visitors to carry back their own trash.
