By Train: The Nearest Major Railway Station is Ranchi Junction (RNC), about 154 KMs away. The alternative closer station is Latehar Railway Station, about 82 KMs away. It is recommended to travel to Ranchi as it has better connectivity from major Indian cities like Kolkata, Delhi, and Patna. From Ranchi, you must take a bus or taxi to Netarhat.
By Road: Netarhat is well-connected by road, notably from Ranchi (via Lohardaga) and Daltonganj (Palamu). State-run and private bus services are available, but a private taxi offers the most comfortable and flexible option, taking around 5 hours from Ranchi.
By Local Transport: Once in Netarhat, the observatory is a short distance from the main market area. You can hire a local auto-rickshaw, a shared jeep (or 'bolero'), or simply walk to the spot, depending on your accommodation's location. The local transport options are reliable but sparse after dark.
