From the airport, one must hire a pre-booked taxi or use a reliable cab service for the onward journey. The drive is scenic but takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.

By Train (Nearest Major Railway Station): The closest major railway station is Ranchi Railway Station or Daltonganj (Medininagar) Railway Station. Ranchi is better connected to major Indian cities. From Ranchi, the distance is about 156 kilometers. An alternative is Latehar Railway Station, which is closer at about 82 kilometers, but connecting trains might be fewer. From the chosen station, a private taxi or shared jeep is the only viable option to reach Netarhat.

By Road (Driving Directions): Netarhat is well-connected by road, although the last stretch is hilly. From Ranchi, take the NH-23 and then connect to the state highway leading to Netarhat. The route passes through scenic terrain. The drive is manageable but requires caution due to winding roads. From the Netarhat town center (near the main market/bus stand), the viewpoint is only about 3-4 kilometers away. Local rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, or the same hired taxi will take you to the viewpoint easily.

For the short distance to the Koel View Point, hiring an auto-rickshaw for a return trip, or negotiating with a local taxi driver, is the most common and convenient way.
