By Train (Nearest Railway Station): The nearest major railhead is New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP), about 110 kilometers from Lava. Taxis and shared jeeps are available to take you to Lava (3. 5 - 4 hours). The final stage of the journey from Lava or Rishyap to the viewpoint must be done on foot.
By Road (Major Road Access): The nearest motorable points are Lava and Rishyap/Rishop. Lava is roughly 32 kilometers from Kalimpong. Tourists drive to their accommodation in Lava or Rishyap. The viewpoint is not directly accessible by a motorable road, requiring a final leg of trekking.
By Local Transport (Within Lava/Rishyap): The last and most crucial part of the journey is on foot. From the center of Lava, it's a 4-kilometer steep trek that takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. From Rishyap village, it is a shorter, but still steep, 2-kilometer trek. Hiring a local guide for this final leg is highly recommended, especially for the early morning trek.
