Shaurya Smarak

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India
Dedication to Martyrs: Shaurya Smarak is a state-of-the-art national war memorial and museum dedicated to the valor and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, and Air Force). It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 14, 2016. The Smarak is a symbol of gratitude and re spect for the soldiers who have protected the nation. The Design Concept: Spread over 12.6 acres on Arera Hills, the design is deeply symbolic. The central feature is the 'Shaurya Stambh' (Column of Valor), an artistic rendition of a rising flame representing the immortal spirit of the martyrs. The complex features an underground museum, a Wall of Valor, and beautifully landscaped gardens for a serene, contemplative experience. Patriotism and Education: The Smarak is a major educational site, featuring installations and exhibits that trace the history of the Indian military, famous battles, and the life and hardship of a soldier, including an area that simulates the harsh conditions of the Siachen Glacier. It is a must-visit to instill a sense of national pride.
