History & Inception: The IMA was established in 1932 following the recommendations of a military committee led by General Sir Philip Chetwode: Chetwode Hall is the grand main administrative and academic building, named after the founder: The academy trains officers for the Indian Army and embodies t he motto "Veerta aur Vivek" (Valour and Wisdom): Architecture & Legacy: It is an architectural marvel blending Greco-Roman and Colonial styles, set across a vast 1,400-acre campus: The hall is the symbolic heart of the academy, housing the administrative offices and holding deep historical significance: The Chetwode Motive: The hall represents the ethos of the Indian military, being the site where the Chetwode Motto is inscribed, guiding thousands of future officers.
