History and Lineage: The main, most revered shrine, known as Shri Dada Darbar, is the Samadhi Sthal (mausoleum) of two revered saints: Shri Bade Dadaji Maharaj (Swami Keshwanand Ji) and his disciple Shri Chhote Dadaji Maharaj (Harihar Bhole Bhagwan). They are worshipped as manifestations of Lord Shi va. While the most significant location is in Khandwa (250+ KMS from Ujjain), the branch in Ujjain is a major spiritual center that continues the same lineage. The name Dhuniwale comes from the Dhuni (sacred fire) that the saints kept burning continuously, a symbol of their continuous worship and purification. The saints performed many miracles and dedicated their lives to selfless service and simple living, attracting a large following across Central India. The Ujjain branch serves as a local ashram and spiritual retreat for devotees who cannot travel to the distant main Darbar in Khandwa. The lineage emphasizes faith, devotion, and the power of the sacred fire for spiritual well-being. The Ujjain location maintains the sanctity of the Dhuni and follows the same ritualistic schedule as the main temple.
